Saints
John and Paul Parish was officially established on February 29,
1980 after several years as a parish-in-formation. We are part of
the Archdiocese of Detroit, and within the archdiocese, part of
the North Macomb Vicariate. If you would like to download a copy
of the parish’s history, which was put together for our 25th
anniversary in 2005, please click on “Parish
History”. For a brief biography of our parish namesakes, the martyrs John and Paul, as well as a description of the icon on the east wall of the church, click on Saints John and Paul.

Protecting God's Children |

In 2006 The Archdiocese of Detroit instituted a new, comprehensive policy for all parish staffs and volunteers who have contact with minors. They call this program/approach "Protecting God's Children." The goal is to establish a safe environment for all children and minors here at SS. John and Paul Parish and all institutions connected to the Archdiocese of Detroit. To that end we require volunteers to give us the information we need to do a background check. A three hour seminar focused on learning what to look for in keeping children safe is also part of the program. To review all the material, or to download a background check form, please click on Protecting God's Children. For information on any upcoming workshop at the parish, click on PGC Workshop or contact the parish office. The Archdiocese sponsors workshops throughout the year at many parishes. To review dates and places, or to register at any of them, including our own, Click on Virtus. Once you open the virtus.org site, you don't have to log in. Look for "Registration" below the login area, click on it, then on "view a list of sessions." and then under "select your organization" find the Archdiocese of Detroit and click on "select." You will then have a list of all the upcoming offerings from parishes. Please note: all parish staff members have had a background check and attended the workshop.
