Saints John and Paul Parish was officially established on February 29, 1980 after several years as a parish-in-formation. We are part of the Archdiocese of Detroit, and within the archdiocese, part of the North Macomb Vicariate. In 2006 The Archdiocese of Detroit instituted a new, comprehensive policy for all parish staffs and volunteers who have contact with minors. They call this program/approach "Protecting God's Children." The goal is to establish a safe environment for all children and minors here at SS. John and Paul Parish and all institutions connected to the Archdiocese of Detroit. To that end we require volunteers to give us the information we need to do a background check. A three hour seminar focused on learning what to look for in keeping children safe is also part of the program.
