SS. John and Paul "Lenten Lift". From Thursday March 11 through Sunday March 14 we will host a variety of speakers and events who will offer us the chance to be re-invigorated and energized our faith journey. Be "lifted" by coming to all or any of the following, no cost, visitors welcome:
- Thursday, March 11, 7:00 PM. World renowned Catholic theologian, Fr. Timothy Radcliffe, O.P., will be at St. Paul's Albanian Church to share his vision on being "Christian in the 21st Century". Our North Macomb Vicariate is sponsoring him in conjunction with the Pontiac Vicariate. A light dinner will be served. For all the details and how to register please see the Radcliffe flyer.
- Friday, March 12, 7:00 PM. Mr. John Thorne and his United in Christ gospel choir will energize us with music and stories of faith. Here at SS. John and Paul. All visitors are welcome as well. Spread the word. See the Thorne flyer for more details.
- Saturday, March 13, 5:00 PM Mass and after. Sunday March 14, 11:30 PM Mass and after: Msgr. John Budde will celebrate Mass with us, followed by further sharing/talk on "Embracing the Life-Giving Aspects of Our Catholic Faith". A light dinner/lunch will be served. March 30, Tuesday, 9:00 AM - 7:00 PM: Day of Adoration ending with Benediction. The Church is open all day with the Blessed Sacrament on the altar. Please sign up for half hour time slots on the sheet in the hallway. March 30, Tuesday, 4:30 - 6:30 PM: Individual Confessions. March 31, Wednesday, 4:30 -6:30 PM: Individual Confessions. April 1, Holy Thursday, 7:00 PM: Mass of the Lord's Supper. A chapel of repose will be set up in the Activities Center and remain open until midnight. Very brief prayer services at 9:30 and 10:30 PM. An ending tenebrae service at 11:30 PM. April 2, Good Friday, 1:00 PM: Liturgy of the Lord's Passion with Veneration of the Cross. For those unable to make this important liturgy, there will be a Stations of the Cross at 12 noon, led by our teens. April 3, Holy Saturday, 11 A.M. - 12 Noon: Family Easter Event and Egg Hunt. See the flyer for details. April 3, Holy Saturday, 12 Noon: Blessing of Easter Baskets. In the Church. April 3, Easter Vigil at 8:30 PM. This is the main celebration of the whole liturgical year. Try to come to this Easter Mass, if at all possible. No 5:00 PM Mass this day. April 4, Easter Sunday: Masses at the usual times of 8:00, 9:30, and 11:30 AM.
