JOURNEY WITH ST. PAUL:  AT-HOME ACTIVITY

In our January 2009 G.R.A.C.E. (Growing and Responding As Catholics Everyday) monthly session we focused on St. Paul, who he was, and some of his writings. In this follow up “at-home” activity, we invite you to deepen that understanding by journeying with him.  At the end of the journey, you will have visited a number of the cities and explored some the writings, which were important to Paul.

St. Paul went on several missionary journeys in his lifetime and visited many more cities than listed on the map. Our G.R.A.C.E. journey with Paul is not designed to go through all of his journeys in chronological order.  Rather, we highlight some cities and invite you to explore something connected to St. Paul with respect to each of the cities listed.  If you want to see maps of all of Paul’s journeys in the order in which the Acts of the Apostles talks about them, a link is provided on the map below.

      • BEGIN YOUR JOURNEY WITH ST. PAUL BY CLICKING WITHIN ANY OF THE BLUE BOXES ON THE MAP BELOW. WE SUGGEST YOU BEGIN AT JERUSALEM, WHERE WE FIRST MEET PAUL, AND END AT ROME, WHERE PAUL WAS MARTYRED FOR HIS FAITH.
      • DO THE ACTIVITIES CONNECTED TO THAT PART OF PAUL'S LIFE.
      • THEN GO BACK TO THE MAP AND CHOOSE ANOTHER BOX TO CONTINUE YOUR JOURNEY.
      • THERE ARE EIGHT AREAS TO EXPLORE. EXPLORE ANY OR ALL OF THEM. AT THE END OF EACH STAGE OF THE JOURNEY, THERE IS A BRIEF QUESTION/REFLECTION THAT ASKS YOU TO WRITE SOMETHING ON THE BACK OF THE SHIP MARKED WITH THE NAME OF THAT CITY. USE THE SHEET OF SHIPS GIVEN IN THE HOME ACTIVITY PACKET AT THE EVENING G.R.A.C.E. SESSION OR CLICK HERE TO OPEN A SHEET YOU CAN PRINT.  THERE ARE ALSO EXTRA SHEETS AT THE PARISH OFFICE.
      • BRING THE SHIPS WITH THE CITIES YOU EXPLORED BACK TO THE PARISH, IF POSSIBLE BEFORE OR ON THE WEEKEND OF JANUARY 24/25, WHEN WE CELEBRATE THE FEAST OF THE CONVERSION OF ST. PAUL, AND POST THEM ON THE LARGE MAP IN THE ACTIVITIES CENTER.
      • HAPPY JOURNEY IN THIS YEAR OF ST. PAUL!
